Mole Information

mole holes

Moles are subterranean mammals prevalent throughout the United States. Growing to only 8 inches in length, moles have either gray or brown fur, large front legs with long claws for digging, and a long snout. Moles can be found in various habitats like woodlands, grasslands, farmlands, and both urban and suburban areas. They create intricate tunnel systems that appear on the surface as mounds of dirt.

Moles aren't home pests, and their diet of earthworms, grubs, and other dangerous insect invaders are often seen as beneficial, but their tunnels can be seen as annoyances. Mole activity can turn grasses unsightly shades of brown and even prevent planted vegetation from becoming securely rooted into place.

Homeowners have many options when dealing with moles, as the pests are not protected under any law. However, moles are elusive due to the fact that they live underground year round. Further, if handled by humans, moles have been known to bite.

To get rid of moles from your yard, head to our Wildlife Control Businesses page. Your local animal control specialist will quickly and humanely locate and remove the moles, making sure the nuisance is taken care of. They will then repair any damage the moles caused.
